Character Name; Rolla Ramsdottir / Class; Barbarian (Beast) / Background; Mercenary Lineage; Dyrafolk / Alignment; Chaotic Good / Height; 6'5" (196cm) / Age; 19 Favored Weapon; Thruma, a hammer named after the sound of thunder's clap.

Background; Most Dyra are turning to mercenary work, now that the age of conquest is being left behind. Some are finding fulfillment in hard labor instead, though Rolla the Lamb is not among them. She desires to be like her father, Hrutur the Ram -- a warrior, to have stories told and ballads sung around campfires. As the chieftain's only daughter, though, there's more to her responsibilities than simply swinging a hammer. Rolla travels to and from neighboring clans, or even to the further civilized nations, acting in her father's name for the good of their people.

Personality; Rolla, like many of her kind, can be something of a hothead. The Dyra care most about the strength of the self, and she is no exception, more likely to listen to the swing of a fist than a list of deeds. That said, she can become a rapt conversationalist with those who've earned her trust, and will defend them with her very life. Many can recount the time Rolla single-handedly brought down several bugbear in a wrestling match to defend the honor of her childhood friend.

The mountain people of Rime Hold are demi-human, descendants of a more savage race, mixture of man and beast. Nearly all adults stand over six feet tall, and heights above seven are common. They are typically well-built, and sport paler complexions. Dyrafolk are remarkably resistant to the cold of their homeland, baring skin even in near-freezing temperatures without discomfort. These clans value self-reliance, strength, courage, and the work of one's own hand. Anything else is treated with a healthy dose of skepticism. At best, they are a proud, pragmatic, passionate people, and their loyalty is fierce once earned. At worst, they can be reckless, hot-tempered, and violent—and no small number of Dyr still consider these qualities virtues rather than vices. Once known as conquerors of the frozen lands, most Dyr are now mercenaries of some kind, or find work as laborers.
